The Russian blitz championships among men and women took place in the Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina in Sochi on the 11th of October. The events are the 13-round Swiss events with the 3+2 time control. Two hundred seventeen players, including thirty-four grandmasters, took part in the open tournament.
