Descrição
The Survivor Tree is a callery pear tree that was recovered from the rubble at the WTC site in October 2001. At the time of its recovery it was 8-feet tall, badly burned, and it had only one living branch. Prior to the attacks, the tree had lived at the World Trade Center site for several decades. In the decade after the 9/11 attacks, the tree was nursed back to health and became a symbol of survival and rebirth. In December 2010, the now 30-foot tree was returned and replanted at the World Trade Center site as part of the National 9/11 Memorial.
