#x201C;Stranger Things” fans first learned of the Starcourt Mall via a fake commercial last summer, which revealed Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) and his hair would be working at Hawkins’ new shopping center’s sailor-themed ice cream parlor, Scoops Ahoy, when the show returned for “Stranger Things 3.”That promo for the Duffer Brothers-created sci-fi series also gave us our first look at Steve’s new partner in crime for Season 3: his co-worker Robin (played by Maya Hawke).TheWrap sat down with fan favorite Keery and newcomer Hawke ahead of Thursday’s “Stranger Things 3” launch to get the scoop on their “slapstick” adventures at Starcourt. Also Read: 'Stranger Things 3': Dacre Montgomery on Billy's 'Sinister' Arc and How It's Connected to Eleven (Video)“I got so lucky. I got thrown into a pile of people that kind of converged at the mall,” Hawke told TheWrap, in the video interview above. “We had so much fun together. And we laughed a lot and our scenes were really funny. Like, I think it’s some of the funniest, total slapstick humor that’s been happening [this season]. And it’s a great environment for it, where the ice cream shop is so ridiculous and our outfits are so ridiculous.”Keery says he was particularly excited to see more of Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Steve’s friendship and how those two team up with Robin and Erica (Priah Ferguson), Lucas’ (Caleb Mclaughlin) little sister, for their adventure at the mall, where they deal with “a bunch of different themes.”The two were cagey when it came to how Starcourt might connect to the Upside Down and the weird happenings in Hawkins on “Stranger Things 3,” but Keery would say “these supernatural elements are linked in some way.”“Everything in the show is connected,” Hawke added, explaining that the mall is significant because “it’s where everything converges.”Also Read: 'Stranger Things 3': David Harbour Says Joyce-Hopper Shippers' 'Thirst Will Be Quenched' This Season (Video)“The thing about malls in the ’80s is that everyone would go to see their friends there, right?” she said. “Like, you’d leave your house and you’d go to the mall and you might run into that other person from high school that you want to run into or you go with your friends and go shopping. And I think that this season mirrors that experience in a kind of cool nostalgic way where everyone ends up at the mall.”What they do when they get there is still a mystery.Watch the interview above.“Stranger Things 3” launches Thursday on Netflix.Read original story ‘Stranger Things 3': Joe Keery and Maya Hawke on Steve, Robin and Dustin’s ‘Slapstick’ Starcourt Mall Adventure (Video) At TheWrap
