Ippo Makunouchi is the eponymous main protagonist from the Hajime no Ippo anime and manga. A shy, humble boy, Ippo lost his father Kazuo at a very young age and now spends his free time helping his mother run their fishing boat business. His introverted nature naturally attracts bullies who like to beat him up.
