High Card' Season 2 Announces Pair of Additional Cast, Opening Theme Artist

The official website of the High Card television anime revealed two supporting cast members, a second key visual (pictured) and opening theme artist for the second season on Thursday. The new season is scheduled to premiere in January 2024. Zenon: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Trigun Stampede) Burst: Miyuki Sawashiro (Lupin the Third: Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna) Rock band FIVE NEW OLD returns to perform the opening theme. Junichi Wada (Sakugan) returns to direct the new season at Studio Hibari. Naoki Kuroyanagi is handling the series composition. Kenichi Yamashita (Major 2nd), Kazuhiko Inukai (Baki), and Shingo Nagai (Caligula (TV)) are penning the script. Nozomi Kawano (Radiant) is designing the characters, and Ryou Takahashi (SK∞) is composing the music. The first anime season produced by Studio Hibari aired in Winter 2023. Crunchyroll simulcasts the anime with subtitles. The anime is part of a mixed media project collaboration between Kadokawa, pachinko developer Sammy Corporation, and animation studio TMS Entertainment.
